Art Deco Glory Box 2013

Client: Entry for the Mansfield Architectural Glass Exhibition 2013

This Piece was the result of further collaboration with Yea Woodworker, Gary Male. Gary produced a solid timber frame and I then designed and manufactured five laminated glass panels to close in the sides and lid of the box. The design is an updated version of an Art Deco fan motif which would have been rendered as a lead light in the Art Deco period. The use of laminated glass gives a more modern look and gives the panels sufficient strength to be used in this way.
