hawthorn studio gallery show July 2018

Client: Hawthorne Studio Gallery, Melbourne

In July 2018 Gary Male and I staged an exhibition of glass and timber works at the Hawthorne Studio Gallery in Melbourne. The show drew its’ environmental themes from the Revelation cartoon which I had completed in 2017. Using glass as a metaphore for human activity and artificiality, and wood as a metaphore for the natural world, we explored the often fraught relationships between the two. The public response was very encouraging as people seemed to embrace both the beauty of the materials and forms as well as the metaphorical meanings.
