Double Spectrum

Client: Axess Glass Products

In 2012, I was commissioned by Axess Glass Products, an importer and distributor of coloured and textured glass, to produce a laminated glass mural which would show off the range of glass which it handled. The mural was to be 19 meters long and span both office windows and sections of brick wall. I designed a double spectrum to reflect the range of glass colours, and to play on one of the major manufacturers of the imported glass- Spectrum Glass in Oregon USA. I used clear textured glass as a background to the window sections so that daylight still illuminated the offices. The work consisted of 29 laminated panels with 6mm clear base glass. Each panel was then set between wooden rails which ran the length of the work.
